Blue Link Recognized by Food Logistics’ 2022 Top Software & Technology Providers Award

Danielle Lobo

The Blue Link ERP team is thrilled to be recognized by Food Logistics’ 2022 Top Software & Technology Providers Award for our food and beverage distribution software. The food and beverage distribution industry can be finnicky due to the short shelf life of products especially frozen ones. Frozen goods, dairy and other foods must be distributed accordingly to avoid spoilage. And if there is something wrong with a batch, it must also be easy for a distributor to track exactly which items need to be recalled.

In order to ensure the best quality goods are going out at appropriate times, lot numbers and expiry dates must be managed and tracked by a distributor. When handling frozen goods, a strong set of warehouse management processes can ensure product gets moved quickly and food does not spoil. Zone picking assigns one person to one area of a warehouse who is responsible for picking all products in their assigned area. This allows the picker to become familiar with the product in their zone to reduce error and pick times.

Managing the warehouse and the use of lot numbers allows Blue Link users to stay ahead of the food and beverage distribution game with the ability to easily manage recalls. It is imperative that these businesses have the systems and processes in place to properly track and report on inventory ensuring harmful products are not distributed. In the event of a recall, it is simple to notify the public using lot codes and pull product – the right product - off shelves quickly.

We want to thank and congratulate the other vendors on the list who contribute to the safety and support of the cold food and beverage industry. See below for the full press release.
